Inside a Session

The routine is fixed on purpose

If the procedure changes between sessions, two sessions cannot be compared. So the order below does not vary, the acceptance rule is stated before the first strike, and the calibration state of both units is recorded at the top of your sheet.

Stage by stage

Ninety minutes, five stages, no improvisation

  1. Conversation and warm-up, 15 minutes

What you play, what it does wrong, what you have already tried, and any physical limitation worth knowing about. Then a warm-up block that is not recorded. Nobody's first eight swings of the day belong in a data set.

  2. Baseline capture, 15 minutes

Your current club, both units running, acceptance rule live. This is the comparison point for everything that follows, and it is the reason we insist you bring your own gear. A fitting without a baseline can only tell you what a new club does, never whether it is better.

  3. Directed swaps, 35 to 45 minutes

Head first, then shaft, then length, then lie — one variable per block. Between blocks, the fitter says out loud what changed and what they expect to see. Getting that prediction wrong is useful information and it gets noted.

  4. Confirmation block, 15 minutes

The leading candidate is re-tested cold, in a fresh uninterrupted block, against the same acceptance rule. Candidates that looked strong on eight strikes and fall apart on sixteen get caught here more often than you would think.

  5. Sheet read-back, 10 minutes

We print the three documents and go through them with you line by line, including the discard counts and any flagged disagreement between the units. Then you take them home. Ordering is a separate conversation on a separate day if you want it to be.

The paperwork

Three documents, all of them yours

Printed on paper and emailed as a file. Nothing is withheld pending a purchase and nothing is watermarked.

Capture table

Every accepted strike from both units, per candidate. Ball speed, club speed, smash, launch, spin, peak height, descent, carry, offline, and strike location. No averages presented without the underlying rows behind them.

Condition sheet

The environment and equipment state that produced those rows, plus the discard rule, the discard counts, and any flagged unit disagreement. This is the page that lets your numbers mean something six months from now.

Build spec

Head and loft setting, shaft make and model, tip and butt trim, raw and finished length, lie, grip model and wraps, target swing weight, and target frequency. Written for a builder, not for a brochure.

Deliberate omissions

Three things this session will not do

It will not coach you. If your delivery is the problem rather than your equipment, we will say so and give you a name, but we will not spend your fitting hour teaching. Roughly one session in eight ends this way and we would rather lose the build than fit a swing that is about to change.

It will not chase a headline number. Peak carry on a single strike is the easiest figure in golf to manufacture and the least useful. Consistency of dispersion and descent angle earn far more strokes and neither photographs well.

It will not end with pressure. The spec is handed over and the session is finished. We do not follow up with a discount that expires, because a recommendation that needs a deadline to be attractive was not a good recommendation.

Hold a Bay

Afterwards

Two follow-ups, neither of them a sales call

At six to ten weeks we email and ask what actually happened on the course. Between May and September we offer a 45-minute outdoor confirmation block at a partner range where the same clubs are re-run and the adjusted indoor figures get checked against reality. Both exist to test our own model, and the results go into the notebook when they are interesting.

Bays fill first on Saturdays

Book the bay, keep the paperwork.

Every session ends with a printed condition sheet and a build spec you own outright — take it anywhere, order from anyone.
